Cognitive Enhancement

Want to know how well your brain performs relative to your age?
This test calculates the age of your brain on the basis of your performance - the better you perform the younger your "brain-age", the worse you perform the older your "brain-age". The calculation is based on the robust inverse correlation of performance with age shown for the spatial working memory test (Tournier et al. 2004). Scientific studies indicate that such tests can be predictive of future dementia, even up to 10 years prior to onset (Small et al. 2000).

Cognitive Processing Speed

It's simple - Think faster, live longer!

Cognitive processing speed is your thinking speed, it is a measure for the responsiveness of your brain, and correlates very well with brain health and age, but also with intelligence and education. Quick speed of processing is important for decision making in our daily lives particularly in tasks such as driving where important decisions must be made quickly.

A major study has linked cognitive processing speed to longevity. In this study poor cognitive reaction times were associated with early all-cause mortality. The increased mortality risk was similar to that caused by smoking.

Slow cognitive processing speed is considered to be a major risk factor for driving and is a more accurate predictor of driver safety than traditional assessment techniques such as visual acuity tests.

Cognitive processing speed reduces with age. In older people this reduction in speed is also linked to a decline in motor function. Older people have less dexterity and co-ordination and when this is combined with slower cognition, decision making and the subsequent acting on these decisions can deteriorate significantly. These issues affect many in our more senior population increasing the risk of falling, and other accidents.

Poor cognitive processing speed has also been measured in children with cognitive deficits. One study showed that children with ADHD were 3 times slower in making decisions compared to their non-ADHD counterparts.

Fortunately, the ingredients in Neurogenol® have been shown to improve cognitive processing speed.
